I’ll never forget the night I met my future husband, Stephen. I had interviewed a psychic for an article and she invited me to her psychic development class. I didn’t really believe in the paranormal, so I ignored the invitation for a year. Then one night, on the spur of the moment, I decided to attend. The group met once a week. When I arrived, I was introduced to everyone in the class and shook a lot of hands. One of the hands I shook belonged to Stephen.

I have to say that other than thinking that the people were nice and the class was more interesting than I had anticipated it would be, I had no particular impression that night.

Not so for Stephen.

Stephen’s parents, Connie and Leo, knew each other for six weeks when he proposed.

He raced home to announce to his family that he had met the woman he was going to marry. Rather unusual when you consider we had not spoken and had never dated. To be blunt, we were strangers.

So how did he know we were destined to be together? In quantum physics, it’s been observed that everything vibrates at its own unique frequency or energy. That includes people. Some psychics–Stephen is one–can feel that vibrational rate.

When he shakes hands with someone, for an instant, he feels an energy spike while his vibrational rate adjusts to that of the person whose hand he’s shaking. When he shook hands with me that fateful night, for the first time in his life, he felt no spike. We were vibrating at the same rate. In his mind, that meant we were soul mates and would someday marry. I had no idea.

But one year later, we walked down the aisle at our wedding. That was over 20 years ago, so I guess he was right.
